What was meant to be a celebration to ring in the New Year, turned out to be a worst nightmare for girl students of a prominent engineering college in Medchal district.
Following the DJ musical night organised by the hostel management on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, a girl student who went to use the washroom on the ground floor of the college hostel – II was in for a shock as she found a mobile camera on the ventilator.
This sparked outrage and protests by students on the college campus. Students alleged that around 300 private videos were secretly recorded in the girls washroom over the last three months. They suspect involvement of hostel workers.
