An electric bike was gutted down when fire broke out in the vehicle at Suraram of Jeedimetla in the city on Saturday.
According to reports, the e-bike was parked near a medical store on Suraram road when fire broke out in the vehicle. Before a fire engine could reach the spot the fire spread to the medical store partially burning the articles kept in the front portion of the store.
Local people tried to douse the fire after collecting water from a nearby building. The firemen arrived and doused the fire.
Officials suspect the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the battery.
