Students and locals staged a rasta-roko on NH 363 demanding action against a person who allegedly raped a minor student at Buruguguda village in Asifabad mandal on Saturday.
Students from a Zilla Parishad High School, parents of the victim and residents of Buguruguda village blocked traffic on Mancherial-Chandrapur highway for a while seeking justice and demanding action against the perpetrator. They raised slogans against the culprit. They wanted police to take stringent action against him by booking a case at the earliest.
However, they withdrew the protest when police assured them of action.
