The Congress party has asked its spokesperson, Shama Mohamed, to remove her social media posts in which she referred to Team India captain Rohit Sharma as “fat for a sportsman,” following a significant backlash. Shama Mohamed posted a critical tweet of Rohit Sharma during the Champions Trophy 2025 group stage match between India and New Zealand. “- @ImRo45 is fat for a sportsman! Need to lose weight! And of course the most unimpressive Captain India has ever had!” she wrote on X.
After facing backlash, the Congress party distanced itself from the comments made by Shama Mohamed and asked her to delete the posts. The Congress leader has since deleted all the posts.
