Heat wave conditions in Hyderabad and in districts of Telangana State have intensified with multiple locations recording average maximum temperatures (between 8.30 am on Sunday and 8.30 am on Monday) of more than 40 degrees Celsius, according to weather data from Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPC).

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has urged the general public to be very cautious and take precautions during this heat wave. “This is the onset of heat wave! We define heatwave when the maximum temperatures at a measuring station reaches at least 40 degrees Celsius in plains like Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana State and 37 degrees Celsius in Coastal areas.,” says IMD-Hyderabad Chief, Dr K Nagaratna.
