Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday felicitated and announced a cash reward of Rs.25 lakh each for chess players Arjun and Harika in recognition of their outstanding performances at the recently concluded 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary from September 10 to 23. Arjun is world rank – 3, while Harika is world rank 11.
Both the Indian men’s and women’s teams made history by winning team gold medals, with Arjun also securing an additional individual gold medal for India, further elevating the nation’s stature on the global chess stage.
