An animal lover from Karimnagar lodged a complaint with Forest officials against a youngster, alleging that he poached a monitor lizard, categorized as a threatened species by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), in Kaddampeddur mandal on Tuesday.
A Goutham of Stray Animal Foundation, a Karimnagar-based voluntary organisation, lodged a complaint with the District Forest Officer (DFO) against the youngster, a user of Instagram, accusing him of hunting the monitor lizard and posting it on his handle on the photo-video sharing application.
