A massive fire broke out in a plastic godown in Bismilla Colony in Balapur on the city outskirts on Tuesday morning. No casualties were reported. A short circuit is suspected to have led to the fire.
Due to the presence of plastic and other combustible material, thick smoke engulfed the entire area creating panic in the locals.
The local police, after receiving the information, reached the spot and deployed fire engines to douse the flames.
The raging fire was brought under control after about an hour.
