Shattering its previous auction records, the famed Balapur Ganesh laddu prasadam fetched a record Rs 30.01 lakh, which is Rs 3.01 lakh more than last year.
In the auction organised by Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi, Balapur local Kolan Shankar Reddy successfully bid the laddu. The samithi, which commenced the auction at Rs 1,116 saw bids touching Rs 30.01 lakh in no time and Shankar Reddy came out successful.
Last year, Dasari Dayananda Reddy of Turkayamjal in Ranga Reddy district got the laddu for Rs 27 lakh. In addition to previous successful bidders, six new participants took part in the auction.
