Residents of a Dalit Colony in Devarayamjal can now access their homes freely after HYDRAA demolished an illegally constructed wall that had blocked their entry since 1985. The wall, built by Tirumala Ventures, had cut off previously available roads, severely restricting movement. Despite repeated petitions to officials over the years, no action was taken. On February 17, residents filed a complaint with HYDRAA Prajavani and commissioner A.V. Ranganath ordered its immediate removal.

The blockade had caused immense hardship, preventing ambulances and fire engines from reaching the colony. Residents were forced to rely on two-wheelers, and in emergencies, pregnant women and critically ill patients had to be carried manually to access medical facilities.
