A Hyderabad restaurant owner was booked by the city police after a free haleem offer led to chaos and a stampede like situation on Tuesday, March 12.The management of Restaurant at Chaderghat, Hyderabad, which was inaugurated on Tuesday, March 12, the first day of Ramzan, decided to distribute free haleem among the public to celebrate the inauguration, only between 7-8 pm. Some people circulated the messages on social media and it went viral.
Hundreds of people turned up to enjoy the freebie, leading to a stampede-like situation. Police personnel, who were stationed near the restaurant resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.
