In a move to curb proxy teachers, the School Education Department directed government-run schools under its ambit to mandatorily display photographs of teachers in the common area of the school premise.
School Education director EV Narasimha Reddy recently issued an order instructing government and local body schools, KGBVs, Model Schools and TGREIS schools to implement with immediate effect.
For this purpose, the School Education director asked the schools to make provision where teachers’ photographs are updated in case of transfer or retirement. “All District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio District Project Officers in the State are requested to instruct all the Headmasters/Special Officers/Principals respectively of Government, Local body, URS, KGBV, TSMS and TREIS managements to display teachers’ photographs in a common area in school premises preferably in teacher civil list,” Reddy said.
