Ignoring requests for better uniforms, the State government decided to provide short pants (knickers), along with shirts, for the Class VI and VII students for the forthcoming academic year. Students have been raising issues over wearing knickers as part of school uniform.

The School Education department, in its revised uniform design for the academic year 2025-26, prescribed shirts and knickers for boys in Classes I to VII.

According to a headmaster, several representations were submitted to the department against providing knickers for the Class VI and VII students. However, the requests went in vain.
